Sudarsan Pattnaik Appointed Brand Ambassador for Census 2027

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has appointed internationally renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik as the brand ambassador for the upcoming Census 2027.

In this new role, Pattnaik will spread awareness about the census across the country through his unique sand art.

His objective will be to encourage citizens to participate actively and understand the importance of accurate data collection.

It is noteworthy that Census 2027 will be the 16th census of India and the 8th after independence.

The last census was conducted in 2011, while the 2021 census was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
