Padma Vibhushan Awarded Posthumously to Dharmendra

President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Awards on 66 distinguished personalities.

Late film star Dharmendra was awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously, and the honour was received by his wife, actress and MP Hema Malini.

Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded the Padma Shri for her leadership, after guiding the team to a One Day World Cup victory this year.

A total of 131 personalities are set to receive Padma awards in 2026, with 65 more awardees to be honoured in the next phase.

K. Pazhani Vel, a renowned Silambam martial arts guru from Puducherry, was also awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to traditional Indian martial arts.
