Renowned constitutional expert and former Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, passed away on June 4 at the age of 97. According to sources from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, he died due to cardiac arrest at his residence in New Delhi. He had also been suffering from health issues for some time.

Dr. Kashyap was widely regarded as one of India's leading constitutional scholars. His extensive work on constitutional law, parliamentary affairs, and democratic institutions made a significant contribution to public discourse and governance in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed deep sorrow over his passing. In a message shared on social media, Prime Minister Modi stated that Dr. Kashyap was among India's foremost constitutional experts and that his contributions to parliamentary and constitutional discussions greatly enriched society.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Dr. Kashyap's writings and lifelong dedication to strengthening democratic institutions, describing his work as highly commendable and valuable for future generations.
