Microsoft Hyderabad Data Center to Go Live This Year
With the rapidly growing demand for AI and cloud services, technology companies are increasingly focusing on expanding data center infrastructure.
In this context, Microsoft is planning to build its largest data center in India, located in Hyderabad, which is expected to become operational this year.
The project is currently under development and is expected to be the company’s largest data center in the country.
Although Microsoft has not disclosed the exact size of the facility, it is expected to play a key role in meeting the growing demand for cloud and AI services.
India remains a major market for Microsoft due to its large internet user base and strong engineering talent pool.
Earlier, the company announced an investment of $17.5 billion in India, in addition to a previous commitment of $3 billion.
Microsoft India and South Asia President Puneet Chandok stated that there is strong demand in India for the Azure cloud platform and the AI assistant Copilot.
Companies such as Infosys, Cognizant, and Tata Consultancy Services collectively use around 50,000 Copilot assistants.
