Bodhana Sivanandan Becomes Top-Ranked Women Chess Player in England
Indian-origin chess player Bodhana Sivanandan has become the top-rated female chess player in England according to the latest International Chess Federation (FIDE) rating list.
The 11-year-old prodigy currently holds a rating of 2366 points.
Her parents moved from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu to England in 2007. She currently lives in North London.
Bodhana, a primary school student, surpassed 25-year-old four-time British Women’s Champion Lan Yao to become England’s top-ranked female player.
She has also entered the world’s top 100 women chess players for the first time, currently ranked 72nd.
